Full-Time | Permanent
The Role
- Inspect components against engineering drawings and specifications
- Learn to carry out detailed inspections using complex datum points
- Use a range of handheld metrology tools and advanced equipment
- Measure “first-off” components from CNC machines
- Record inspection results accurately within company systems
- Raise non‑conformances (PIFs) and communicate issues to team leaders
- Support testing and validation of components and assemblies
Essential Requirements
- Qualified to Degree/HNC/HND level in a Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing discipline
- Ability to read engineering drawings (basic to intermediate level)
- Some experience working with tight tolerances
- Experience using handheld inspection tools (e.g. verniers, gauges)
- Able to follow documented instructions and processes
- Good attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Basic Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word)
- Willingness to learn and develop within a technical environment
- ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or similar (or working towards)
Desirable
- Experience in a CNC machine shop or manufacturing environment
- Exposure to quality tools (SPC, AQL, calibration, etc.)
- Experience using CMM or Faro Arm equipment
- Knowledge of welding or fabrication processes
