Hygiene Supervisor

Pay: £16.88 p/h
Shift: 4 on 4 off
Are you an experienced Hygiene Supervisor who takes pride in maintaining high standards, leading teams and ensuring food safety excellence? This is an opportunity to join a well-established food manufacturing business where hygiene plays a critical role in protecting product quality, audit performance and customer confidence. You will lead a dedicated hygiene team, ensuring the site consistently meets expectations across GMP, micro control and regulatory standards. This role suits someone who enjoys being hands‑on, driving improvements and working closely with technical and production teams to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
What you will be doing
- Lead and coordinate the hygiene team to deliver daily cleaning standards across the site
- Ensure hygiene procedures meet regulatory, audit and customer requirements
- Supervise, support and develop hygiene operatives to maintain performance, safety and compliance
- Carry out hygiene audits and support micro testing and trend analysis
- Work closely with the Technical team on audit outcomes and improvement actions
- Plan and support external audits, ensuring corrective actions are completed
- Monitor hygiene standards across production areas and arrange re‑cleaning where required
- Ensure correct use of PPE and safe handling of chemicals in line with COSHH requirements
- Carry out ATP swabbing and chemical checks to verify cleaning effectiveness
- Support continuous improvement of SOPs and cleaning schedules
- Ensure shift attendance, organisation and smooth day‑to‑day operation
What we are looking for
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience within hygiene in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Proven experience managing or supervising a team within a production setting
- Strong understanding of hygiene standards, GMP and food safety requirements
- Experience working in a hygiene or cleaning function within manufacturing
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines and make decisions in a fast‑paced environment
- Confident communicator who can work cross‑functionally with production and technical teams
- A proactive, hands‑on approach with a focus on maintaining high standards
