About the Role

  • An established UK based distributor and manufacturer of high reliability electronic components is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to support and grow customer relationships across the North UK territory.
  • The organisation supplies a wide range of electronic components including passive interconnect power magnetic optoelectronic semiconductor and electromechanical products into demanding sectors such as aerospace defence rail industrial and other harsh environment markets.
  • This position focuses on delivering both technical and commercial support building strong customer partnerships and identifying new business opportunities through a consultative and solutions led approach.
  • You will act as a trusted advisor working closely with internal teams and manufacturing partners to support design activity resolve technical challenges and convert opportunities into long term business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop an existing customer base while identifying new opportunities across the region
  • Provide technical support including product selection guidance and application level input during design and qualification stages
  • Engage directly with customers through meetings site visits and design reviews to understand requirements and propose suitable solutions
  • Identify and develop new projects applications and growth areas within existing and prospective accounts
  • Collaborate with internal sales product management quality and engineering teams to deliver coordinated support
  • Support joint customer visits and technical discussions with supplier partners where required
  • Maintain accurate records of customer activity opportunities and forecasts
  • Provide market feedback including customer trends competitor activity and new opportunities


Candidate Profile

Essential

  • Proven experience in a technical sales applications or field sales engineering role ideally within electronic components
  • Strong technical understanding of electronic or electromechanical components
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both engineering and commercial stakeholders
  • Experience managing a regional territory and working independently
  • Commercial awareness including pricing negotiation and opportunity conversion
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly


Desirable

  • Experience working within aerospace defence space rail or industrial sectors
  • Familiarity with qualification standards approvals or harsh environment applications
