A Role With Real Ownership

Artemis Human Capital is working in exclusive partnership with this growing business to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join their team.

This is not a narrow, siloed role youll be involved across month-end, transactional finance and process ownership, working closely with senior finance leadership and gaining exposure well beyond a typical Assistant Accountant position.

What Youll Be Doing

Youll operate across both accounting and operational finance, helping to keep everything running smoothly while supporting key reporting deadlines.

Month-End & Reporting

• Assist with monthly close activities

• Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments

• Complete balance sheet reconciliations

• Support management accounts and variance analysis

• Assist with audit and year-end preparation

Day-to-Day Finance Operations

• Manage supplier invoices, reconciliations and payment runs

• Act as a key contact for supplier queries

• Maintain accurate and well-controlled financial records

• Support cashflow-related processes and reporting

Process Ownership & Improvement

• Maintain supplier data and ensure strong controls are in place

• Investigate and resolve pricing or account discrepancies

• Support quarterly claims and ensure correct financial treatment

• Identify areas for improvement and help streamline processes

Team Support

• Work closely with the Head of Finance on priorities and deadlines

• Provide cover when required to ensure continuity across the function

• Support wider finance activities as the business evolves

What Were Looking For

Youre someone who enjoys being involved, takes pride in your work and wants to keep developing.

• Part-qualified accountant or experienced Accounting Technician

• Strong grounding in month-end and reconciliations

• Experience across purchase ledger or transactional finance

• Confident with Excel and finance systems

• Detail-focused with a proactive, problem-solving mindset

• Comfortable balancing multiple priorities
