Principal Embedded Software Engineer (Nottingham, Hybrid Working Model)

This growing technology business is developing next‑edge platforms for the transport sector, combining embedded systems with computer vision to deliver intelligent, real‑world solutions at scale. The team is now looking for a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to take technical ownership of embedded and edge systems across a range of products moving from development into production.

You’ll play a key role in shaping system architecture, working across embedded Linux platforms, hardware integration and real‑world deployments, with the opportunity to influence technical direction and mentor others within the team.

Qualifications

• Strong hands‑on experience with Embedded Linux systems
• Experience working close to hardware and electronics
• Any knowledge of edge AI or Computer Vision is advantageous
• Ideally, experience with Yocto, edge/IoT systems or video/vision‑based platforms
• Ability to take ownership of technical decisions and lead projects
