The Role
This is a senior, commercially influential role for an experienced Project Director who already commands credibility in the D&B market. You'll lead front-end pitches, shape proposals, and leverage your network to generate new opportunities. You'll act as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them from initial concept through to delivery, while providing strategic oversight across multiple live projects.
This role suits a PD who thrives on relationship-building, pitching, and revenue generation, and who wants to play a key part in shaping the company's growth across the South East.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead high-impact pitches, tender interviews, and proposal presentations, setting the commercial tone and driving win rates.
- Use your existing network of clients, consultants, agents, and suppliers to generate new opportunities and expand the company's reach.
- Act as the senior client-facing figure from first engagement through to project completion.
- Shape front-end strategy, influencing design direction, programme, methodology, and commercial positioning.
- Work closely with pre-construction, design, and commercial teams to craft compelling, competitive proposals.
- Build and maintain long-term client partnerships, becoming a trusted advisor and key relationship holder.
- Provide strategic oversight across multiple projects, ensuring quality, programme, and commercial targets are achieved.
- Mentor and develop project teams, ensuring a consistent, polished front-end experience.
- Represent the business at industry events, networking functions, and regional forums to elevate brand presence.
- Provide board-level insight on pipeline development, market activity, and revenue opportunities across the South East.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Project Director within the Design & Build or commercial fit-out sector.
- Strong, established network across the South East - clients, agents, consultants, and supply chain.
- Demonstrable track record of winning work, leading pitches, and influencing client decisions.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills; confident, articulate, and persuasive.
- Deep understanding of D&B methodology, CAT A/CAT B fit-out, and commercial interiors.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to shape strategy and drive profitability.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and inspire high performance.
- Comfortable managing multiple opportunities and projects across the region.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive, relationship-driven mindset.
- Relevant construction qualifications; chartership (MCIOB, RICS) advantageous.
