Head of Business Studies/Computer Science

We are looking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Head of Department to lead our business studies/computer science department from September 2026. We are seeking an individual who has a proven track record of innovative approaches to teaching and someone who can continue to raise achievement in the department. The successful candidate will be able to:

  • lead a supportive, well‑motivated team with a strong ethos for collaborative and shared practice
  • teach across the full ability range from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5
  • work in an environment with a strong emphasis on professional development

The department teaches the following courses: KS3 computer science, GCSE business studies, Cambridge Nationals Creative iMedia, Level 3 BTEC Business studies, Level 3 AAQ Level in ICT and A level media studies.

Macmillan Academy is situated in Middlesbrough on Teesside and was rated good by Ofsted in the most recent inspection. We have over 1500 students on roll, including 300 in Post 16.
