What’s the opportunity?

This is a senior origination role within Cynergy Bank’s Financial Institutions Group, focused on specialty finance and structured lending. The role sits at the front end of the Bank, driving new business opportunities across lending and liabilities, while balancing commercial growth with disciplined risk management.

Operating as First Line of Defence, you will lead origination activity from initial prospecting through to execution, working closely with Credit, Risk and Portfolio teams. You will also act as a sector specialist, bringing deep market insight, a strong external network, and credibility with introducers, sponsors and counterparties.

This role is suited to an experienced Relationship Director with end‑to‑end deal expertise, not a generalist coverage banker.

You will enjoy hybrid working, with 3 days per week in our London office and 2 days working from home.

How You Will Make An Impact

• Originate new Financial Institutions and specialty finance transactions aligned to the Bank’s strategic and risk appetite.
• Lead deal structuring, execution and handover, ensuring strong outcomes for customers and the Bank.
• Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with introducers, sponsors, borrowers and key market counterparties.
• Act as a designated sector specialist, monitoring market and competitor developments and recommending actions.
• Partner closely with Second Line functions to ensure transactions are robust, well‑structured and fully sanctioned.
• Ensure all origination activity complies with AML, KYC and regulatory requirements.
• Proactively manage pipeline activity with accuracy, transparency and discipline.
• Contribute to coaching and mentoring colleagues, supporting succession and team capability.

What You Will Bring

This role requires deep, specialist experience. We are specifically looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

• Proven origination experience within Specialty Finance, Financial Institutions or structured lending environments.
• An established network of prospects, introducers and direct borrowers.
• Strong asset class knowledge across Real Estate Finance, Leveraged Finance and/or Trading businesses.
• End‑to‑end deal expertise, from origination through structuring, execution and ongoing risk management.
• Strong credit judgement, financial analysis and modelling skills, with experience writing clear, high‑quality credit papers.
• Experience working with senior, stretched senior and mezzanine cash‑flow transactions.
• A strong understanding of risk, governance and regulatory obligations in a lending environment.
• A leadership mindset, with the ability to influence, coach and collaborate across teams.
