About you
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent); part-qualified candidates with significant relevant experience may also be considered
- Strong background in management accounting, statutory reporting, and financial processes
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills
- Experience working within computerised accounting systems (ideally Sage Payroll, Microsoft Navision/Business Central)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Attention to detail with a "right first time" approach
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a proactive mindset
- Willingness to travel within the UK and ROI for stock takes and audits
What you'll do
- Lead and support the Group Accounts team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Prepare management and statutory accounts, budgets, and financial forecasts
- Oversee compliance with VAT, statutory regulations, and other statutory obligations
- Manage external audits, including liaising with auditors during year-end processes
- Support subsidiary companies with financial data accuracy, process improvements, and issue resolution
- Travel to subsidiary sites to oversee stock takes and ensure proper financial procedures are followed
- Ensure operational activities such as payroll, debtor collection, and statutory surveys are completed efficiently
- Drive continuous process improvements to optimise financial operations
