We are seeking an experienced and pragmatic People Partner to join our People function on a contract basis.
This role focuses primarily on employee relations casework, partnering closely with managers to navigate a wide range of people‑related matters with confidence, consistency, and sound judgement.
You will thrive in a fast‑paced environment where priorities can shift quickly, using your strong ER expertise, relationship‑building skills, and practical approach to deliver fair, compliant, and high‑quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a varied caseload of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, and sickness absence cases
- Provide clear, timely, and pragmatic advice to managers, ensuring cases are managed in line with internal policy, employment legislation, and best practice
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate ER documentation, including meeting notes, invitation letters, performance improvement plans, and return‑to‑work plans
- Support and coach managers through formal meetings, offering guidance, appropriate challenge, and reassurance as required
- Maintain thorough, well‑organised ER case records, tracking actions, decisions, and outcomes
- Contribute positively to a collaborative and professional People team culture
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing end‑to‑end employee relations casework
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Excellent judgement, with the ability to assess risk and provide balanced, commercially minded advice
- Clear and confident communicator, able to handle sensitive and complex situations calmly and constructively
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise a varied caseload and work to tight timescales
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in written case documentation
- Ability to build trust quickly with managers and employees at all levels
- Discreet and professional, with a strong commitment to confidentiality
