Fire & Security Systems Engineer

Location: Birmingham South Area

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum – depending on experience.

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Jackson Fire & Security is rapidly expanding its operations across the UK, delivering fire and security solutions across education, social housing, property management, and retail sectors.

You will be a highly organised and proactive individual with strong responsibility and professionalism in a field-based, lone-working role.

The role is Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with flexibility required to support operational needs and ensure excellent service delivery.

About the Role

As a Fire & Security Engineer you will install and maintain a wide range of fire and security systems, continuously developing knowledge across technologies. Your days will be dynamic – installing extinguishers one day and servicing commercial fire detection or intruder alarm systems the next.

Customers expect the highest professional standards. You will represent the business, deliver exceptional service, and maintain high standards at all times.

This is a lone‑working role reporting daily to your manager. You will own your workload, tackle technical challenges, and protect people, property, and assets.

Your work goes beyond fixing systems – you safeguard lives and provide peace of mind.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience with fire and/or security systems – installation, maintenance, fault‑finding of fire alarm systems, access control, intruder alarms, CCTV, fire extinguishers (training provided where required)
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Strong communication skills; professional interaction with customers face‑to‑face and over the telephone
  • A can‑do attitude; customer service always a top priority
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients
  • Highly self‑motivated, capable of working independently and delivering work to the highest standards
  • A hard‑working and reliable approach to all tasks
  • Ability to manage workload effectively with minimal supervision
  • Successful applicants will be subject to security screening in accordance with BS7858
