CHILLER & HVAC SERVICE ENGINEER
Location
Midlands & North UK – ideally based in or around Greater Manchester area, with consideration for South Manchester, Cheshire, nearby surrounding areas, and wider Midlands and North depending on experience, location and willingness to travel.
Job Summary
We are partnered with a market‑leading UK HVAC business with an outstanding reputation for delivering high quality heating, cooling and ventilation solutions across commercial, industrial and specialist environments. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and self‑motivated mobile engineer to join a growing service operation across the Midlands and North, working within a business known for technical quality, strong internal support and long‑term career development.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out service, maintenance, repair and fault‑finding work across my client’s and other manufacturers’ chillers, heat pumps and wider HVAC equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
- Work across applied HVAC systems including chillers, refrigeration, air conditioning, air handling and associated equipment.
- Complete service activity efficiently while maintaining excellent technical and customer standards on site.
- Liaise closely with customers to provide updates, technical feedback and a professional service experience.
- Submit site reports, timesheets, expenses and associated paperwork accurately and within required timeframes.
- Communicate effectively with the Service Manager, Service Support team and other engineers to support productivity and service response.
- Maintain strong health and safety standards at all times, both internally and on customer sites.
- Represent the business professionally to support its market reputation and customer relationships.
- Continue building technical knowledge and product understanding in support of long‑term development.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- Proven track record in the service, repair, maintenance and fault‑finding of chillers, heat pumps, AHUs, dehumidifiers or other applied HVAC equipment within commercial, industrial or other technically demanding environments.
- Good working knowledge of broader HVAC systems such as refrigeration, air conditioning and air handling equipment.
- Turbocor knowledge would be highly advantageous and may justify salary flexibility, but is not essential.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding capability.
- Previous experience working autonomously in a mobile field service role.
- Good communication skills and the ability to deal professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to work on your own initiative while remaining aligned with internal service processes.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a practical, solutions‑focused approach.
- Health and safety awareness and commitment to best practice on site.
- Computer literacy and confidence completing digital reports and service documentation.
- Full UK driving licence.
- FGAS certification would be advantageous.
- CITB Skills Card would be advantageous.
- Controls knowledge would be advantageous.

About the Role
This is a field‑based engineering role focused on the service, repair, maintenance and fault diagnosis of chiller and wider HVAC systems across the Midlands and North UK. The role will place particular emphasis on chillers, heat pumps, AHUs and dehumidification equipment, although wider exposure to air conditioning, refrigeration and associated HVAC systems will also be valuable.
