Injection Moulding Maintenance Engineer

Location: Kent

Salary: £34,000 – £42,000 (inclusive of shift premium)

Shift: Monday to Friday rotating 07:00-15:00 / 15:00-23:00 (40 hours, 30-minute paid break)

My client, a long-established plastics manufacturer, is looking to recruit an Injection Moulding Maintenance Engineer to support a busy, high-volume production environment. This is not a role where you sit back and wait for breakdowns, you'll be expected to take ownership of machine performance, reliability, and continuous improvement across the shop floor.

The Role of Injection Mould Maintenance Engineer

As an Injection Moulding Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of production machinery and associated equipment.

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across injection moulding machinery
  • Fault finding across electrical and mechanical systems
  • Maintaining ancillary equipment including conveyors and regrind systems
  • Supporting and developing preventative maintenance schedules
  • Managing and maintaining critical spare parts stock
  • Recording all maintenance activity and machine performance data
  • Working closely with production and process teams to reduce downtime
  • Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety standards

About You

  • Time-served or recognised engineering qualification (apprenticeship / HNC)
  • Multi-skilled with both electrical and mechanical capability
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment (plastics or injection moulding advantageous)
  • Strong fault-finding ability across machinery, pneumatics and automationAble to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

  • PLC experience (Mitsubishi / Allen Bradley)
  • Robotics exposure (ABB, KUKA, Staubli)
