Technical Author – Contract
Inside IR35 – Nuclear, Reading – 2 days on site per week
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Author to support engineering projects within a highly regulated nuclear environment.

What will you be doing?
- Produce and manage engineering documentation; permits, RAMS, procedures, and work packs
- Act as the link between design and site teams; ensuring documentation reflects site activity
- Translate engineering drawings and technical input into clear, usable documentation
- Support commissioning and installation teams with accurate, compliant documentation
- Ensure all documentation meets nuclear safety and regulatory standards
- Maintain document control; versioning, indexing, and audit readiness
Where will you be doing it?
You will be based in Reading, supporting critical nuclear infrastructure projects within a highly regulated environment. The role is documentation heavy and requires close collaboration between design, commissioning and site teams to ensure safe and compliant delivery.
What will you need?
- Experience in a Technical Author or documentation focused role
- Engineering background; mechanical, EC&II, process or similar
- Experience producing RAMS, permits or site documentation
- Ability to work effectively between design and site teams
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Experience in regulated environments; nuclear preferred but not essential
- Willingness to undergo SC and DV clearance
