Retirement Living Officer (Coventry)

Role Overview

Midland Heart is seeking a housing manager with a background in safeguarding services to support our Sheltered Housing Retirement Living schemes. The position is based on site at Marsh House and also covers two additional schemes in Coventry (Newland Court and Windridge Close). It is a fixed‑term contract until May 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out void property viewings, manage sign‑ups and overall tenancy management.
• Manage compliance, including building safety, safeguarding, fire safety and health and safety, ensuring the schemes remain safe and thriving communities.
• Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with tenants, communicating key messages and meeting their needs to achieve high customer satisfaction.
• Represent Midland Heart as the responsible person on each scheme, handling emergencies and customer queries.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Experience working within a housing management setting with a proven ability to manage safeguarding concerns for older adults and resolve ASB concerns through mediation and tenancy management.
• Experience carrying out building safety and compliance checks.
• Practical IT skills (Microsoft packages and in‑house systems) with the ability to write letters to customers, report repairs and complete online training.
• Highly organised with the ability to balance multiple tasks in a varied role.
• Confident interacting with a diverse range of people, bringing a positive approach to challenges while managing expectations.

Job Requirements

Must be willing and able to travel to all schemes and to the central Birmingham office for training and team meetings.
