An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Group Digital Division as Lead Digital Trainer in the Digital Training and Engagement Team.
We have recently developed a Groupwide Digital Service providing collaboration across University Hospitals of Leicester, Northamptonshire; Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust and Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Working together as a hospital group provides us with exciting opportunities to deliver benefits over and above what we could achieve as individual organisations and our approach to "do once for both" as set out in our Group Digital Strategy, in the development of our Groupwide Digital service.
The postholder will be responsible for providing efficient, integrated and user‑focused training to all staff, delivering excellent customer service, supporting the team to ensure that services provided across the group are and continue to be effective, meet the clinical and business needs of the Group, and represent best value for money.
Main duties of the job
- Manage your team's project activity daily through work planning and prioritisation, escalating risks and issues where appropriate.
- Contribute to business cases and support long‑term business planning where appropriate.
- Propose the overarching framework and content for the training strategy and implement it in conjunction with your team.
- Propose the individual training approach for each project and continuously review effectiveness throughout the project life cycle.
- Lead on continuous improvement to training provision, recommending and implementing improvements to training plans.

Job responsibilities
- Training delivery and support.
- Advise clinical and admin users on the most effective, safe and efficient use of the Clinical Applications available.
- Identify, with stakeholders, any clinical risks associated with the use of Clinical Applications and electronic patient records. Manage allocation of resources within the team to meet business and/or clinical needs.
- Work with the Test Lead, acting as an SME to support the development of testing plans based on complex workflow and system configuration requirements to ensure the systems are fit for purpose and meet clinicians' needs.
- Provide technical and professional advice regarding Clinical Applications training.
- Ensure training booking systems processes are up to date and the team follows standard operating procedures.
- Develop a training prospectus and publicise training courses available.
- Understand thoroughly the current clinical information systems and processes across the Trust and adapt this knowledge to learning replacement and new systems introduced.
- Plan flexible training delivery methods to meet the users' varying needs and time constraints.
- Develop training materials, user manuals and guidance notes for Trust information systems.
- Ensure a clinical safety management system is followed and all clinical risks are assessed in conjunction with the Clinical Safety Officer.
- Use initiative to plan work to ensure effective training delivery, resolve conflicting timescales and priorities independently, exercising judgement and discretion to resolve issues.
- Adopt a mentor role in the development of team members to assist them in acquiring in‑depth knowledge of training and training theory.
- Troubleshoot technical difficulties that impact clinical systems.
- Maintain existing skills and develop further levels of expertise.

Experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development.

- Advanced systems workflow knowledge across a broad range of clinical systems and software. Knowledge of digital healthcare standards and NHS datasets and their relationship to coding, finance and commissioning.

- Demonstrable experience of leading a team in a training environment at a senior level (preferably in the NHS).
- Demonstrable knowledge of clinical risk management policies and processes.
- Excellent understanding of NHS IT systems and services.

Training & Qualifications
- Educated to Masters level education or equivalent level or equivalent experience delivering Digital services.
- Recognised training qualification. Sufficient knowledge of the provision of health services.
- Demonstrable understanding of clinical workflows relevant to EPR in NHS setting.
- Evidence of continuous personal and professional development.
- Agile delivery qualification e.g. ScrumMaster, AgilePM. Project Management qualification such as PRINCE II or experience of using structured project methodology.
- Evidence of experience or qualification in one or more of the following: SQL / SQL Server HL7 Interfaces, Reporting tools (e.g. Business Objects), Windows Server Administration.
