Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site role for a Deputy Manager at Alexander House Nursery in London. The Deputy Manager will support the Nursery Manager in day‑to‑day operations, oversee staff, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and maintain high standards of care and education. They will assist in planning and implementing educational activities, managing resources, and communicating with families to foster a strong community connection. The Deputy Manager will also play an active role in staff training and development while promoting the nursery’s values and mission.

Qualifications

• Team Leadership and Staff Management: Experience in leading teams, training staff, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Early Childhood Education: Knowledge of early years frameworks and experience in planning educational activities for young children.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with children, families, and team members, fostering positive relationships.
• Compliance and Safety: Understanding of regulatory standards, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety requirements in childcare settings.
• Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage day‑to‑day operations, prioritize tasks, and handle administrative responsibilities effectively.
• Qualifications and Experience: Relevant qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and prior experience in a supervisory role within a nursery setting.
• Passion for Childcare: A genuine enthusiasm for working with children and supporting their growth and development in a nurturing environment.
