Are you passionate about food safety, quality and audit excellence. We’re looking for a Quality & Hygiene Coordinator to take ownership of quality issues, hygiene standards, compliance, and continuous improvement across our site.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the QA team with day to day Quality decisions
- Leading and developing the hygiene team
- Owning hygiene schedules, cleaning procedures, deep cleans & pest control
- Driving BRC/GFSI, HACCP & food safety compliance
- Leading GMP & hygiene audits with confidence
- Investigating site non conformances, incident reports, complaints etc to improve quality and hygiene standards
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in Quality & Hygiene within food manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, COSHH & food safety legislation
- Confident people leader – equally comfortable on the shop floor and with senior management (this role required a large factory presence)
- Sharp eye for detail with strong root‑cause problem‑solving skills
- Food Safety/Hygiene qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Hygiene: Lead cleaning staff, develop schedules (e.g., deep cleaning, daily / weekly / monthly cleans), manage cleaning chemicals, manage Pest Control Contract
- Quality Assurance: Monitor production processes, conduct audits, manage product quality / safety and ensure compliance with BRC/GFSI standards.
- HACCP & Compliance: Support the HACCP team leader, ensuring legal compliance and managing food safety documentation.
- People Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate the hygiene staff.
- Continuous Improvement: Investigate customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and implement improvements to reduce waste and increase quality.
- Audit Readiness: Lead site hygiene audits / GMPs. Log and manage corrective action.
Key Requirements & Skills
- Experience: Proven experience in Hygiene & Quality management within a food manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, COSHH, food safety regulations and cleaning methods.
- Leadership: Proven capability to manage and develop teams, with excellent communication skills. Strong personnel skills, able to communicate with both management and shop floor staff.
- Analytical: Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Qualifications: Food Safety qualifications, Hygiene Qualification.
