Lead Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Practice, Leadership Role – North London – £80,000–£95,000 DOE A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to step into a leadership role at a well-established, independent small animal practice in North London. About the Practice This is an independent, owner-led small animal practice with a close-knit team of three vets, supported by an experienced nursing and client care team. The practice has built a strong and loyal client base, with a well-earned reputation for delivering exceptional clinical care and communication. The recently revamped practice is well equipped, with: Dedicated theatre and separate cat and dog wards X-ray, ultrasound and bronchoscope Dedicated dental suite with dental X-rays Peripatetic specialists covering orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology, endoscopy and cardiology Spacious team room, kitchen and shower facilities for staff About the Role This is a full-time Lead Veterinary Surgeon position, with approximately 80% of your time spent clinically. Alongside your clinical work, you’ll play a central role in driving the practice forward — supporting the team’s development, maintaining clinical standards, and working collaboratively with the Nurse Manager and Practice Manager. The schedule runs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (8:30–19:30), plus 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9:00–13:30). All shift hours are paid including lunch breaks, which are actively protected. Prior experience in a lead role would be beneficial, but candidates at all experience levels are encouraged to apply.
