Secondary SEN Teacher – SEN School

Prospero Teaching is working closely with a specialist SEN secondary school to recruit a passionate and committed SEN Teacher to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is motivated to support pupils with complex needs in a structured, supportive environment.

The Role:

  • Teaching and supporting secondary-aged pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and additional needs
  • Planning, delivering, and adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • Creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and senior leaders
  • Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to EHCP targets
  • Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Managing behaviour using trauma-informed and positive behaviour strategies

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching students with SEN (mainstream or specialist setting)
  • Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • A genuine passion for SEN education and inclusive practice
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the child workforce
