Project Manager
Location: Portsmouth
Rate: Up to £38 per hour PAYE / £50.84 per hour Umbrella
Contract Duration: 12 months (possible extension)
Hours: 37 hours per week (overtime paid at standard rate)

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a major engineering and defence programme based in Portsmouth. Working within a complex, regulated environment, you will be responsible for leading multifunctional teams to deliver projects on quality, on time and on cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate multifunctional project teams to deliver agreed project objectives
- Develop and maintain robust project plans, schedules, budgets and resource forecasts
- Manage customer and stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear and timely communication
- Own project reporting, highlighting risks, issues and mitigation actions
- Control project finances, cost performance and schedule adherence
- Maintain and update risk registers and ensure effective risk mitigation
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, ethics and quality standards
- Manage change, non‑quality issues and lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering projects within engineering, defence or aerospace environments
- Strong background in project planning, scheduling, budgeting and risk management
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and interfacing with internal and external stakeholders
- Confident producing clear project status reports and managing customer expectations
- Familiarity with structured project management frameworks
- Aerospace or defence sector experience is advantageous
