Senior Town Planner – Infrastructure Focus (Senior, Principals and Associates considered)

Location: Manchester City Centre (hybrid)

Salary: 40 – 58k

This role involves leading on a variety of infrastructure projects, with responsibilities that span the entire consenting process from early feasibility and application preparation to obtaining consents and supporting delivery during construction. You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams on projects governed by diverse consenting regimes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of consent applications under various planning regimes.
  • Manage projects professionally, coordinating across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring effective financial control.
  • Build strong internal relationships through responsiveness and a commercial approach.
  • Guide and support junior consultants, reviewing and overseeing their work.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in delivering planning consents for infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, gained from local authority or private sector roles.
  • Experience in engaging with stakeholders, planning authorities, and statutory consultees.
  • Chartered status (MRTPI) or are actively working towards it.
  • A degree in town planning
