Temporary Bank GP – Walk-In Centres (Edgware & Finchley)
We are seeking experienced and dedicated General Practitioners to join our bank team, providing flexible cover across our Walk-In Centres in Edgware and Finchley.
Location: Edgware & Finchley Walk-In CentresShifts: Edgware: Between 9:00am – 7:00pm, Finchley: Between 10:00am – 8:00pmService Hours: Currently 8:00am – 8:00pm (subject to change)Availability: 7 days a week (flexible, based on your availability)
Role Overview: The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a rota covering both sites during agreed hours. You will provide high-quality clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients attending the Walk‑In Centres, while also supporting the wider clinical team to ensure safe, efficient, and patient‑centred care.
MRCGP qualificationExperience in unscheduled care settings (e.g., urgent care, walk‑in centres, A&E)Ability to work independently and as part of a teamStrong clinical decision‑making and communication skills
Main duties of the job
- To provide high quality general practitioner medical services in the Walk‑In Centre to patients of all ages.
- Provide support to the team of nurse practitioners and healthcare staff in the assessment and treatment of unscheduled walk‑in consultations and patients referred for an appointment by NHS 111.
- Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
- Use evidence‑based knowledge when treating patients.
- To provide appropriate health education, advice and safety netting to patients attending the WIC.
- To appropriately request and interpret investigations including ECGs and X-rays.

Education/Qualification
- GMC Registration
- MRCGP Qualification and registration
- Currently on a Medical Performers List
- Adequate medical indemnity
- Basic Life Support Qualification
- Evidence of professional development and engagement with annual GMC appraisal
- Undertake all statutory and mandatory training requirement
- Intermediate Life Support course
Experience
- Practiced as fully qualified GP in the UK
- Self‑Audit and reflection
- Computer Literacy
- Understand the health and social needs of the local population
- Experience of working in Urgent Care
Skills & Knowledge
- Innovative approach to problem solving and provision of service.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Experience of using System one
- Skills in assessment and management of minor injuries
