Consultant Paediatrician with special interest in Allergy

We seek a General Paediatrician with allergy interest to work in our busy secondary care service. This post has no night shift or on‑calls but resident day time duties in evenings and weekends on the Child Assessment Unit. The role is to support our general Paediatric services.

The post holder will mainly be involved in clinical work but will also be expected to participate in the junior doctor teaching programme and other non‑clinical duties.

The post holder will work 10 PAs per week (average 40 hour working week includes out of hours work), with weekends covering the Child Assessment Unit (CAU) at a frequency of 3 in 14 weeks (one 2 pm to 10 pm and two 9 am to 9 pm), and weekday evenings 5 to 10 pm at a frequency of 1 evening in 12 (together with 5 other consultants). The post holder will also take part in the attending consultant of the week rota, 1 week in 7, where they are one of two consultants covering the inpatient ward, with flexibility to help with acute duties on the Child Assessment Unit / Emergency Department (ED) in the afternoon based on acuity and demand.
