Atkins Search is recruiting for an experienced Director of Structural Engineering to join a highly reputable, forward‑thinking and fast‑growing Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy based in Nottingham with flexible and hybrid working options available.

Client
My client is a dynamic, forward‑thinking Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy that prides itself on a collaborative culture, high quality service and dedication to its people and wellbeing. They provide a range of Civil and Structural Engineering services across sectors such as healthcare, higher education, student accommodation, residential, industrial, commercial and many frameworks.
Role
The Director – Structural Engineering will assist with leading a team of competent structural engineers and technicians to deliver projects within an agreed budget, timescale and to a high quality. This includes delivering your own projects, communicating with clients, stakeholders and external teams to ensure the brief is adhered to while maintaining a positive client relationship. An important aspect of this role is to act as mentor for team members, providing advice and guidance based on previous project knowledge.
Qualifications
- Degree level qualification in Engineering (Civil or Structural Engineering) or equivalent.
- Membership of relevant professional engineering institution – ideally IStructE, ICE, CEng or similar (Desirable).
- Proven track record as a successful Director, Technical Director, Project Director and/or Associate Director with an Engineering Consultancy.
- Successful track record within work winning and business development of both new and existing clients.
- Experience of building design and structures across a range of sectors, ideally education, retail, commercial, healthcare, residential, leisure, logistics and manufacturing.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills with a commercial mindset.
