Role
This role will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of our growing business division. This role combines the strategic insight of a finance business partner with the technical expertise of a systems accountant. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to ensure financial stability, operational efficiency, and data integrity, with a focus on ensuring financial systems and processes are fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and forecasting.
- Provide insightful analysis and reporting on financial performance, identifying key trends and opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Business Partnering: Support the team and wider business with all business partnering activities ensuring the finance team are seen as a trusted advisor to senior management and business units, providing financial insights and recommendations.
- Facilitate effective decision-making through financial analysis, scenario planning, and risk assessment.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
- Systems and Process Development: Lead the implementation and optimisation of financial systems and processes, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
- Design and implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Coordinate with IT and other stakeholders to integrate financial systems with operational platforms.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Manage the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring the timely completion of audit deliverables.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance and professional accounting qualification.
- Experience in manufacturing environments, demonstrating an understanding of the unique financial challenges and processes within the industry.
- Proven experience in a finance business partner or systems accountant role, ideally within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Strong understanding of financial systems, ERP implementation, and process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and reporting tools.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
