Senior Biomedical Scientist – Biochemistry Senior and Blood Sciences Training Officer

Overview

Due to retirement, the Blood Sciences Department at NHS Highland is seeking a Senior Biomedical Scientist with training responsibility to join our friendly, dedicated and professional team.

Location & Logistics

• The post is based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.
• In post duties include providing technical and training support to laboratories at Caithness General, Belford Hospital and Lorn and Islands General Labs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform routine and specialist biochemistry analyses.
• Operate Siemens Atellica CH and IM analysers.
• Conduct HbA1c analysis using Tosoh G11 HPLC, Osmolality and CSF Xanthochromia.

Qualifications

• IBMS Specialist portfolio or MSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience or suitable band 6 level experience.
• Experience in an ISO 15189 accredited laboratory.
• Biochemistry experience is required; training experience desirable.
