Hoare Lea is a human-centric and planet-conscious engineering consultancy. We offer intelligent and sustainable solutions to complex design challenges for the built environment throughout the UK and further afield.
Electrical Engineer or Senior Engineer — Glasgow or Edinburgh.
We provide a wide range of engineering and consultancy services, including acoustics, air quality, building services (MEP), fire, lighting, security and sustainability. Our teams use technical expertise and problem-solving skills to bring buildings to life, ensuring that the design is outstanding and operations meet the needs of the communities served. We are committed to providing an environment where everyone can realise their potential, with opportunities including our 9-day fortnight, thriving community groups, varied social and networking events, and extensive professional and technical development schemes. Our benefits package includes private medical cover, an electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme, stock options, and 25 days of annual leave (increasing with service), alongside flexible and hybrid working.
We have an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer or Senior Engineer to play a key role in delivering high quality, sustainable electrical engineering solutions across multiple projects in the built environment. You will join our Electrical team based in either our Glasgow or Edinburgh office, with the opportunity to work with both offices and contribute to projects across Scotland and the wider UK. This role can be based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh. We are a recognised leader in the built environment, shaping projects across residential, hospitality, leisure, commercial, and complex engineering sectors. Our work spans cutting-edge healthcare and research facilities, a broad range of education projects—from primary and secondary schools to further and higher education campuses—high‑performance data centres, critical infrastructure and state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing and technology environments. We collaborate with leading clients across the public and private sectors, locally and internationally.
Working alongside a range of specialist engineers and consultants, you will join a collaborative, knowledgeable, highly engaged team who value flexibility and a high-performing culture. You will own project deliverables, manage elements of the internal delivery team, and liaise with multidisciplinary colleagues, clients and contractors to ensure holistic, compliant and commercially aware solutions. You will typically lead defined elements and smaller projects (Engineer) or take full lead responsibility for larger schemes and broader client engagement (Senior Engineer). You will help develop junior staff and foster relationships that support future business growth.
