IAG Transition Key Worker – Salary: £34,434 - £36,363, Hours: 37 hours per week, Contract: Permanent, Location: The Reginald Centre (hybrid working)
About the Role
Support NEET young people to overcome barriers and progress positively into education, employment or training opportunities. Work one‑to‑one with young people, provide impartial careers education, advice and guidance (CEIAG), build relationships, identify needs and aspirations, and track progress in accordance with NCCIS and other statutory standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver impartial careers education, information, advice and guidance to young people about post‑16 options.
- Build and maintain relationships with young people, assessing needs, barriers, and aspirations.
- Carry out initial assessments and track, monitor, record, review and report on progress.
- Explore partnerships and develop collaboration to improve outcomes.
- Support the Advanced Practitioner and Team Leader to meet performance targets.
- Act as a mentor, coach and role model for other practitioners.
- Use a restorative practice approach and uphold safeguarding responsibilities.
- Maintain effective relationships with staff, partners, external agencies and the public.
- Improve own practice through observation, evaluation and professional development.
- Attend relevant meetings, training days and events as requested.
Qualifications
Level 4 IAG qualification or equivalent.

- Knowledge of issues affecting young people.
- Knowledge of child protection, welfare, local and national policies.
- Understanding of Outcome Based Accountability (OBA).
- Knowledge of restorative practice and Child Friendly City priorities.
- Experience working with diverse young people.
- Involving young people in decision‑making.
- Planning, recording, evaluating, and reporting work.
- Developing positive links with voluntary sector, community and agencies.
Desirable Requirements
- Relevant JNC recognised qualifications in working with young people.
