About the Role

Neway International is recruiting on behalf of Conwy County Borough Council for four Groundworkers to support the Open Spaces team within Environment, Roads and Facilities. This temporary assignment covers a vacancy period while approval processes are underway. The role is hands‑on, outdoors, supporting seasonal growth and general grounds maintenance across the county. Candidates must be able to drive and hold a valid Category B licence.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with seasonal grounds maintenance and growth‑related tasks.
• Carry out general groundworking duties as directed by supervisors.
• Operate council vehicles safely when travelling between sites.
• Support the upkeep of open spaces, ensuring areas remain safe and well‑maintained.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and manual handling requirements.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience in grounds maintenance, outdoor labouring or similar practical work.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely on active sites.
• Good communication skills and a positive, reliable approach to work.

Supervision & Management

• Able to work independently once tasks are assigned.
• Well‑organised and responsible when handling equipment and vehicles.

Contacts & Relationships

• Able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable engaging with colleagues and members of the public when required.

Physical Demands

• Regular manual handling and physical outdoor work.
• Must be prepared to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to travel to different locations within the county.

Essential Requirement

• Full valid UK Category B driving licence.
