Overview
We are recruiting four teaching and scholarship lecturers for two new degree programmes being launched at the Queen Mary – Nanchang University Joint Educational Institute (QM‑NCU JEI). Lecturers will deliver teaching and administrative activities in at least one module from the lists below and will also contribute to year 3 group‑project modules. They are expected to develop and execute scholarship projects that align with teaching and learning.
Responsibilities
- Teach and administer at least one module from the following options:
- Introduction to Medical Ethics
- Python language programming
- Probability theory, statistics and Bayesian analysis
- Artificial intelligence in medicine
- Academic skills
- Develop and deliver scholarship projects that support and enhance curriculum delivery.
- Take part in the design, delivery and assessment of interdisciplinary teaching across Biomedical Sciences and Data Science disciplines.
- Collaborate with staff in London and in Nanchang as part of the ‘Flying Faculty’ model.
Qualifications
- Excellent academic background with a PhD in Biomedical Sciences or an equivalent professional qualification and relevant experience.
- Specialised expertise in at least one of the modules listed above.
- Strong teaching and research experience in contemporary Biomedical Sciences or Data Science disciplines.
- Effective communication and team‑working skills.

About the Institute
The JEI expands on the successful Joint Programme (JP) in Biomedical Sciences and Clinical Medicine between Queen Mary and Nanchang University. Teaching and assessments are delivered by staff who travel between London and China, with faculty based in the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences (SBBS) at the Mile End campus.
