Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our team, leading the delivery of water treatment and water quality systems while overseeing day-to-day production operations. This role is ideal for someone who can balance project management with hands-on leadership in a manufacturing environment.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring water purification systems are designed, built, tested, and delivered to meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and the highest water quality standards.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing:

Project Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver projects focused on water treatment and purification systems
  • Review customer water quality requirements and technical specifications to develop detailed project plans
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery

Production & Build Oversight

  • Oversee the assembly, build, and testing of water treatment and purification systems (RO, DI, filtration, etc.)
  • Lead workshop staff to ensure systems are manufactured to meet required water quality and performance standards
  • Schedule and allocate resources to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Monitor workflow, resolving bottlenecks and quality issues
  • Oversee system testing to ensure performance meets required water quality outputs and specifications
  • Support commissioning activities and validation of systems prior to handover
  • Ensure all equipment meets operational, safety, and water quality standards

Software & Controls

  • Develop and maintain control systems for water treatment equipment (PLC/HMI or similar)
  • Support troubleshooting and optimisation of system performance and water quality output
  • Work closely with engineers to integrate control systems with treatment processes

Quoting & Costing

  • Prepare accurate quotations for water treatment systems and associated equipment
  • Obtain supplier pricing for components, materials, and services

Technical Oversight

  • Provide technical guidance on water treatment processes and system design
  • Review and approve engineering drawings and specifications
  • Ensure systems meet both engineering requirements and customer water quality standards
  • Liaise with suppliers to source components for water treatment systems
  • Monitor supplier performance against quality and reliability expectations

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate project and production records
  • Report on project progress, production performance, and system quality
  • Ensure all activities comply with ISO 9001 and relevant water quality and Health & Safety standards

What you’re responsible for

  • Allocating workshop resources and managing production schedules
  • Approving technical changes within agreed project scope
  • Stopping work where necessary to address safety or water quality concerns
  • Following company purchasing procedures

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in engineering project management within water treatment, water quality, or similar process industries
  • Hands-on experience overseeing the build and testing of water treatment systems
  • Experience with control systems (PLC, HMI, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of water purification processes (RO, DI, filtration, etc.)
  • Ability to prepare and price technical quotations
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project planning tools
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and Health & Safety standards
