Finance Supervisor | Permanent | London | Hybrid | £60-70k base
A well-established international banking organisation is seeking a Finance Supervisor to join its London-based finance team. This role offers broad exposure across regulatory reporting, financial control, and process improvement within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
The Role
You will play a key role in supporting the Head of Finance while overseeing day-to-day finance activities. This includes contributing to regulatory reporting, financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with UK banking regulations.
You’ll also have the opportunity to supervise team activities when required and be involved in ongoing finance projects and system improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial reporting in line with UK regulatory requirements (including Bank of England, PRA, and FCA)
- Support the preparation and submission of regulatory returns and statistical reporting
- Assist with Corporation Tax and VAT returns, working with external advisors where necessary
- Produce daily P&L reports, including variance analysis and commentary
- Prepare financial statements and support external audit processes
- Ensure accuracy through daily reconciliations and control checks across financial systems
- Investigate and resolve accounting queries within the trial balance
- Monitor and review general ledger accounts
- Contribute to FSCS reporting and ensure regulatory compliance
- Maintain and update finance procedures in line with process or system changes
- Support finance-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide guidance and training to junior team members when required
Skills & Experience
- Experience within a finance function in a banking or financial services environment
- Strong understanding of UK regulatory reporting (PRA / Bank of England / FCA)
- Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong Excel skills and overall proficiency with financial systems
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance
- Ability to manage and analyse large volumes of financial data
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with systems such as Flexcube or SAP Concur
- Knowledge of IFRS 9 and hedge accounting is a necessity
