Role Overview
This is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) position within the Issuance Settlements team, responsible for roles covering both Fixed Income and Equity products across multiple markets within EMEA and DTC. The team supports banking and trading desks across Europe, Asia, and the United States, performing various bespoke roles. Core responsibilities include monitoring asset creation, issuer payments, and the timely settlement of actual issuances, encompassing equity and fixed‑income products such as IPOs, block deals, and new issues. The role involves daily engagement with clients, legal, internal stakeholders, and third‑party vendors, and the successful candidate will receive ongoing supportive training and a personal development plan to foster career progression within Citi.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement change initiatives, client solutions, and projects related to securities and derivatives settlement on issuance creation and settlement.
- Resolve complex inquiries, conduct discovery, and perform due diligence for client requests and internal stakeholders.
- Provide detailed analysis of escalated issues, recommending appropriate actions for resolution.
- Contribute to improving processing standards and expectations for securities and derivatives teams.
- Develop policies and procedures that offer solutions and cost‑saving opportunities.
- Manage daily activities related to securities and derivatives pre‑issuance settlement, including MIS and settlement efficiency statistics for issuance processes.
- Propose solutions for implementing settlement process improvements, enhancing client service, and optimizing technology.
- Coordinate with internal and external clients to assess service quality and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This includes driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency. Effectively supervise the activity of others and promote accountability among those who do not uphold these standards.
Qualifications
Previous applicable relevant experience, preferably in a Settlements or Market Operations role. Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
