The Role
The FP&A Analyst will support the Finance Business Partner for Real Estate in delivering high‑quality financial insight, reporting and analysis to Shoosmiths’ Real Estate Division. The role will play a key part in budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting and cost analysis, helping stakeholders to understand financial performance and make informed decisions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a developing FP&A professional to build strong commercial and business partnering skills within a complex professional services environment.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Produce timely and accurate management information for the Real Estate Division, including monthly reporting, variance analysis and commentary
- Analyse cost trends, drivers and performance against budget and forecast
- Support the development and tracking of KPIs and performance metrics
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support the annual budgeting and periodic reforecasting processes for the Real Estate Division
- Work with budget holders to gather inputs, challenge assumptions and ensure consistency
- Maintain forecast models and supporting schedules
- Business Partnering Support
- Act as a key finance contact for the Real Estate Division teams on day‑to‑day queries
- Support the Finance Business Partner in preparing materials for stakeholder meetings
- Help translate financial data into clear, meaningful insight for non‑finance stakeholders
- Decision Support & Projects
- Assist with investment appraisals, business cases and cost‑benefit analysis
- Support ad‑hoc analysis for strategic initiatives and transformation projects}
- Systems & Data
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data used for reporting and analysis
- Help improve the use of finance systems, models and reporting tools
- Document processes and support standardisation across FP&A activities
Essential Skills & Experience
- Part‑qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent FP&A experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and explain financial information
- Good Excel and financial modelling capability
- Clear communication skills and ability to work with non‑finance stakeholders
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience in an FP&A, management accounting or business partnering role
- Exposure to budgeting and forecasting processes
- Experience in a Legal or professional services people‑cost‑led environment
