This role offers an exciting opportunity for experienced Mental Health Nurses to join the Gedling Local Mental Health Team. Candidates will develop skills for community setting care of an adult population across Nottingham city area and secondary care services within SMI pathways (mood affective, complex psychosis, community rehabilitation and non‑psychosis).
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseload and collaborating with patients and families to support personalised care plans and specialist interventions.
- Promoting recovery of patients and coordinating with partner agencies and primary care for timely and safe discharge from secondary care.
- Conducting triage assessments and detailed initial assessments of new referrals.
- Providing support via the duty system (telephone or face‑to‑face).
- Leading within the team: developing specialist skills in at least one pathway, supporting students and junior staff through supervision and mentorship, and line‑managing staff as required.
- Working within a dynamic multi‑disciplinary health team, communicating effectively, and managing complex cases in partnership with other agencies.
Requirements:
- Experienced mental health nurse with expertise in SMI pathways.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with caseload management and discharge planning.
- Willingness to develop specialist skills and contribute to staff supervision and mentorship.
