Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm and Fridays 8am to 2pm
Role Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join a high:performing manufacturing environment. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving quality systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business. This position offers clear progression into a Quality Manager role within 2:3 years, supported by structured development and leadership exposure.
Role and Responsibilities of a Quality Engineer
- Manage and maintain Quality Management Systems in line with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001:2015 standards
- Plan and conduct internal audits, ensuring compliance with documented procedures and work instructions
- Oversee PPAP submissions and ensure adherence to customer and contractual requirements
- Act as the primary interface for customer quality concerns, supporting internal and external audits
- Drive continuous improvement through structured problem:solving methodologies and data analysis
- Lead quality performance and cost:of:quality assessments using statistical tools
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and lead kaizen events across production areas
- Provide coaching, guidance, and training on quality:related matters to internal teams and customers
Requirements of a Quality Engineer
- Proven experience working as a Quality Engineer within a high:volume manufacturing environment
- Qualified Internal Auditor to ISO 9001 standards
- Strong knowledge of problem:solving tools such as 8D, A3, Ishikawa, and 5 Whys
- Ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across cross:functional teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all organisational levels
- Confident working with cloud:based systems
- Desirable: Knowledge of IATF core tools, VDA Auditor certification, Six Sigma Green Belt
