Compensation: £38,700 – £43,250 per year (with potential market supplement depending on experience)

Hugh Baird College, an Ofsted Outstanding provider, is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our Building Services team as Course Lead in Electrical Installation.
Role summary
Lead, shape and inspire the next generation of electricians. Drive high standards, shape an employer‑led curriculum, and ensure outstanding learner outcomes across Electrical Installation provision.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching across Levels 1–3, including learners aged 16–18, adult learners and apprentices.
- Lead on quality assurance, assessment standards and verification activity.
- Support and guide teaching colleagues, leading by example.
- Oversee course management activities such as learner registrations, assessment schedules and qualification claims.
- Contribute to curriculum development, innovation and employer engagement.
- Maintain industry relevance through continuing professional development (CPD) and sector engagement.
Qualifications and criteria
- Level 3 (or above) Electrical Installation qualification.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE / CertEd) or equivalent.
- Relevant, recent industry experience.
- Proven ability to motivate and inspire learners.
- Strong communication, organisation and feedback skills.
