Joiner / Maintenance Engineer

Barlows UK Ltd are looking for a proactive, energetic, and motivated individual to join their team as a Joiner / Maintenance Engineer. The ideal candidate will take pride in delivering high‑quality workmanship and providing an excellent level of service across a variety of projects.

Role Overview

This is a varied and hands‑on role involving:

  • Private domestic, light commercial, and insurance‑related projects
  • General joinery work including installation, repair, and maintenance
  • Fitting kitchens, doors, skirting boards, architraves, and flooring
  • Carrying out reactive and planned maintenance tasks
  • Basic multi‑trade work such as minor plumbing, decoration, patch plastering, or tiling where required
  • Property repairs and refurbishment work
  • Measuring, cutting, and installing materials to a high standard
  • Working both independently and alongside other trades
  • Ensuring all work complies with health, safety, and quality standards

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in joinery or maintenance roles
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Experience in multi‑trade environments (advantageous)
