Joiner / Maintenance Engineer
Barlows UK Ltd are looking for a proactive, energetic, and motivated individual to join their team as a Joiner / Maintenance Engineer. The ideal candidate will take pride in delivering high‑quality workmanship and providing an excellent level of service across a variety of projects.
Role Overview
This is a varied and hands‑on role involving:
- Private domestic, light commercial, and insurance‑related projects
- General joinery work including installation, repair, and maintenance
- Fitting kitchens, doors, skirting boards, architraves, and flooring
- Carrying out reactive and planned maintenance tasks
- Basic multi‑trade work such as minor plumbing, decoration, patch plastering, or tiling where required
- Property repairs and refurbishment work
- Measuring, cutting, and installing materials to a high standard
- Working both independently and alongside other trades
- Ensuring all work complies with health, safety, and quality standards
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in joinery or maintenance roles
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Experience in multi‑trade environments (advantageous)
