Health & Safety Manager – Fit Out Construction Project

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a fast-paced fit out construction project in Walsall for a 35-week programme. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of all health, safety, and compliance matters on a live site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with current legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead all site health & safety activities throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure full compliance with HSE legislation, CDM regulations, and company procedures
• Carry out site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Review and monitor RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work
• Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and implement corrective actions
• Work closely with Site Managers, subcontractors, and client teams
• Maintain accurate site records and compliance documentation
• Promote a positive safety culture across the project

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager within construction / fit out projects
• Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and CDM Regulations
• NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate (Diploma desirable)
• Relevant CSCS card
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and drive standards on site
• Fit out, refurbishment, commercial, retail, or live environment experience desirable
