Overview
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a fast-paced fit out construction project in Walsall for a 35-week programme. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of all health, safety, and compliance matters on a live site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with current legislation.
Responsibilities
- Lead all site health & safety activities throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure full compliance with HSE legislation, CDM regulations, and company procedures
- Carry out site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Review and monitor RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work
- Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and implement corrective actions
- Work closely with Site Managers, subcontractors, and client teams
- Maintain accurate site records and compliance documentation
- Promote a positive safety culture across the project
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager within construction / fit out projects
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and CDM Regulations
- NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate (Diploma desirable)
- Relevant CSCS card
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and drive standards on site
- Fit out, refurbishment, commercial, retail, or live environment experience desirable
