Are you passionate about health, fitness, and supporting recovery? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Rehabilitation Therapy Service (RTS) within the high‑secure environment of Broadmoor Hospital.
We are dedicated to empowering patients on their recovery journey through meaningful, therapeutic activities that build confidence, skills, and wellbeing. As part of this, our Health and Fitness team plays a vital role in helping patients stay active, improve their physical health, and develop positive lifestyle habits that support long‑term recovery.
We are looking for a motivated and proactive Health and Fitness Supervisor to join our team. Working as one of four supervisors, you will play a key role in leading and supporting staff across shifts to deliver a diverse and engaging programme of physical activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support staff across shifts to deliver a diverse and engaging programme of physical activities.
- Provide day‑to‑day local leadership of staff in Health and Fitness.
- Ensure the team offers equal access to all patients, identifying sporting activities within personal health restrictions and environmental risks.
- Actively develop and implement new health activities for patients, considering demographics, age, culture and interests, including individualised or group programmes.
- Plan sessions collaboratively with the Dietician and Physiotherapy to support patients with physical limitations and weight issues.
- Participate in department safety procedures: daily searches, preparation work, patient observations, escorting patients, and managing incompatibilities.
