EIA Project Manager

This role can be based from our Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol or Cardiff office.

We are seeking an experienced project manager to join our established Environmental Planning team. The role involves delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for complex projects in sectors such as onshore renewable energy and energy infrastructure, working collaboratively with specialist internal teams and external consultants, and managing projects from tendering to submission of the EIA report.

You will support the EIA project managers, oversee the EIA process, coordinate technical specialists, and engage with stakeholders and the public. The role offers professional development through training, mentoring and progression to membership levels of ISEP/RTPI. The position is based in one of our offices and follows a hybrid work model with a minimum of two office days a week, with travel to sites and client offices as required. A full 37.5 hours per week is the standard, but flexible working options are available.

The role includes participation in employee ownership through the Employee Ownership Trust.

Experience and qualifications

• Experience managing EIAs from consultancy, client side or regulatory agency.
• Existing relationships with key stakeholders and the public, and knowledge of potential future clients.
• Degree level relevant environmental qualification (e.g. geography, environmental science, management).
• Understanding of how EIA fits within development planning, including the design process for complex projects.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills with proficiency in report writing and numeracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Ideally, experience across multiple market sectors, including energy infrastructure, with experience managing EIAs for large complex projects.
• Working towards full membership or Chartered membership of ISEP, RTPI or similar.
• Knowledge of GIS.
• Understanding of specific environmental issues such as landscape and visual, water resources, peat, biodiversity.
