About the role

Imperial College London is seeking Property Facilities Managers to oversee the day-to-day operations of buildings across our campuses, ensuring the facilities are safe, compliant and ready to support teaching, research and campus activity.

You will act as the key point of escalation for building-related issues, working as part of the wider campus property team and leading a small on-site team. You will collaborate closely with maintenance specialists, contractors and operational colleagues to coordinate services, maintain high standards and ensure buildings remain operationally ready and responsive to the needs of staff, students and visitors.

What you would be doing

You will lead the coordination of maintenance issues for all your buildings, ensuring issues are identified, prioritised and resolved efficiently through CAFM systems and contractor management. This includes carrying out regular inspections, monitoring asset performance, and working with specialist teams to maintain building systems and ensure operational readiness.

You will also oversee compliance, health & safety and contractor performance, ensuring all works are delivered safely and in line with statutory and organisational requirements. Alongside this, you will manage and develop your team, support reporting and performance monitoring, and use data and insight to drive continuous improvement across FM services and building performance.

What we are looking for

• A relevant professional qualification at level 3 or above (or willingness to work towards one)
• Recognised Health & Safety qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
• Experience in facilities or property management within a complex organisation
• Experience managing contractors and working within SLAs and performance frameworks
• A good understanding of health & safety, compliance and statutory requirements
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• The ability to analyse data and use insight to improve service performance
• Experience leading or supporting teams and delivering a high standard of service
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience using systems such as CAFM
• Proficient in financial procedures, cost analysis, purchasing and organisational controls
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
• A proactive, problem-solving approach and the ability to work effectively on-site
