Position: Coordinator, Information Security Audit

The Coordinator, Information Security Audit role supports the Global Information Security Assurance function by assisting in the coordination and execution of assurance activities across BDO member firms. This junior‑to‑intermediate role works closely with the Manager, Information Security Audit and supports the Specialist, Information Security Audit.

The role focuses on audit coordination, evidence management, preliminary controls testing, and supporting the consistency, documentation, and follow‑up of assurance activities across the global network.

This role requires a foundational experience in information security, IT audit, or risk/compliance functions.

Key accountabilities

Audit Coordination & Support

  • Coordinate and schedule audit activities with member firms, ensuring clear communication of requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Support the collection and review of audit evidence, ensuring completeness and alignment to testing requirements.
  • Maintain documentation, audit workpapers, and tracking logs to ensure quality and consistency across assessments.

Controls Assessment & Testing

  • Conduct initial walkthroughs and basic controls testing under the supervision of senior team members.
  • Assist in validating artefacts, control outputs, and remediation evidence for follow‑up reviews.
  • Support thematic assessments in areas such as access control, change management, vulnerability management, and endpoint security.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Contribute to audit reports, summaries, and dashboards by drafting initial observations, trend analysis, and risk summaries.
  • Update internal records, evidence repositories, and risk tracking systems.

Stakeholder & Operational Support

  • Facilitate communication between Global Office teams and member firm contacts.
  • Support continuous improvement by contributing to the enhancement of methodologies, templates, and audit guidance.
  • Assist with data analysis for assurance metrics and control performance indicators.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in information security, IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 1–2+ years of experience in IT audit, information security, compliance, risk, or related roles.
  • Basic understanding of ISO 27001, SOC 2, and core security control areas.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English. An ability to read and speak in another language would be beneficial but is not essential.

Preferred

  • Exposure to audit methodologies, ITGCs, or security assessments.
  • Training or early‑career certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, ISO 27001 Foundation, or working toward CISA).
