Role Details:
The Logistics Project Manager is responsible to Senior Project Manager for developing and managing construction delivery arrangements and has a key role throughout the project lifecycle.
The Project Manager will ensure the successful establishment and delivery of this capital infrastructure programme and will ensure that team members are provided with direction and support to lead, manage and deliver projects, and achieve project outputs. The candidate will be required to deliver at pace and demonstrate effective application of project management skills, tools and techniques.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee Early Contractor Involvement through design, planning, and construction, ensuring continuity across all phases.
- Manage delivery and commissioning of enabling infrastructure works (e.g. buildings, roads, services) via the framework supply chain.
- Provide strong project leadership to meet objectives, maintain stakeholder alignment, and sustain team performance.
- Administer NEC4 contracts, monitor partner performance (quality, cost, time), and proactively manage risks and issues to avoid delays or cost overruns.
- Control project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow, ensuring accurate reporting.
- Support assurance and gateway reviews, ensuring compliance and confidence in delivery.
- Ensure adherence to processes and standards, manage schedules, milestones, and change control, and oversee contract close-out, including financial reconciliation and maintenance agreements.
Key Requirements:
Essential
- Available to work on site a minimum of 3 days week with SC clearance held.
- Hands on consultancy and/or construction background, with minimum 10 years delivery experience (at least 5 years in a management role).
- Experience of managing construction logistics.
- Sound commercial knowledge and understanding of the cost and value of packages as well as delivery experience, should be able to question and challenge CE’s.
- Hands on experience of managing delivery using NEC4 contracts including management of change and stakeholder management.
- IT skills in MS Office Software Suite
- Membership of relevant professional body.
- NEC4 PM accreditation
Desirable
- Experience of managing projects in complex live operational environment, ability to follow due process in a regulated facility.
- Experience of working in collaborative environment.
- Security experience – working with security teams to develop and implement procedures, construction of physical security features, development of cyber measures, etc.
- Experience of planning / implementing significant service diversion projects.
- Flexibility and adaptability to fast changing needs.
- Primavera P6 knowledge and understanding.
- Knowledge of CEMAR or similar tool.
- Nuclear awareness training (NIC or similar)
