Salaried GP

Islip Medical Practice is seeking a motivated andenthusiastic Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team. We are awell-established, forward-thinking dispensing practice located in a ruralvillage just 5 miles from Oxford, serving a patient population of approximately7,000, including one nursing home. Our patient per GP list size issignificantly lower than the national average of 2,228.

We are part of the KIWY Primary Care Network (Kidlington,Islip, Woodstock and Yarnton), providing access to a wide multidisciplinaryteam and shared learning opportunities. The PCN Clinical Director is also aPartner at the practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a GP looking to work ina collaborative environment that prioritises both high-quality patient care andstaff wellbeing.

Main duties of the job

• Provide high-quality, patient-centred general practice care
• Undertake a mix of face-to-face and remote consultations
• Manage a varied clinical caseload, including patients in a local nursing home
• Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team within the practice and PCN
• Participate in clinical triage using the Accurx system
• Contribute to practice development and quality improvement initiatives

We are a training practice hosting GP registrars throughout the academic year and we are committed to continuous learning and development.

Our team includes:

• 7 GPs
• 2 Practice Nurses
• Practice Manager and Assistant Practice Manager
• Experienced reception and administrative team
• Experienced dispensary team

Through our PCN, we also benefit from a wider team including a Clinical Pharmacist, GP Assistant and a Mental Health Team (dedicated Mental Health Practitioner and MIND workers for adults and children). District Nurses are co-located on site, enhancing collaborative patient care.

Job responsibilities

• Ideally covering: Mondays and Wednesdays
• 15-minute pre-bookable appointments
• All appointments triaged by a clinician prior to booking
• Provide high-quality, patient-centred general practice care
• Undertake a mix of face-to-face and remote consultations
• Manage a varied clinical caseload, including patients in a local nursing home
• Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team within the practice and PCN
• Participate in clinical triage using the Accurx system
• Contribute to practice development and quality improvement initiatives

Person Specification

Experience

• Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and licence to practise Inclusion on the NHS Performers List
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to high standards of patient care
• Experience working in a primary care setting
• Interest in teaching or training
• Experience with clinical triage systems
