We are seeking a Co‑Head of Services – Transitions & YuGo to play a central role in shaping and delivering our work. This is a senior leadership position that combines strategic influence with hands‑on involvement. You will jointly lead the organisation’s services and share responsibility for service quality, safeguarding, performance and overall impact.

Reporting to the CEO, this role focuses on services for disabled young people aged 11–25. This includes inclusive sports and fitness provision, arts opportunities, life skills and youth activities, which together create a wide range of social and developmental experiences. These are designed to support young people to build confidence, develop independence and form meaningful connections. The role provides leadership to key staff, including the Activities Co‑ordinator and Service & Activities Managers, who in turn support Sports Coaches, Activity Leaders and Support Workers.

Alongside this, the role leads our sports and activities commercial offer, YuGo, which has a strong track record of delivering both social impact and earned income for Allsorts. This presents an exciting opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset to further develop and grow our offer, balancing sustainability with creativity and purpose.

You will ensure that all activities are high quality, inclusive and responsive to the diverse needs of disabled children and young people, including those with complex physical or learning needs. Provision will be varied, thoughtful and outcomes‑focused, while remaining flexible to the voices and experiences of those we support.

This is a role that operates at both strategic and operational levels. In addition to overseeing service delivery, you will be actively involved in shaping and delivering activities depending on your skills and experience. You will contribute to service design, partnership development, risk management and quality assurance, and will lead on monitoring and evaluation to ensure that services remain safe, effective and aligned with our organisational priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Joint Leadership & Strategic Oversight

  • Work collaboratively with the Co‑Head of Services‑Early Intervention to ensure cohesive leadership across all 0–25 provision and services
  • As a member of the Senior Leadership Team contribute to strategic planning, annual service planning and organisational performance objectives
  • Ensure service pathways from early childhood through to adulthood are aligned and responsive
  • Monitor overall service quality, accessibility and inclusion standards, alongside data capture of outputs and outcomes
  • Contribute to board reporting and organisational performance review
  • Ensure the commercial viability of YuGo’s offer, providing accessible outcomes whilst ensuring agreed income targets

2. Transitions Service Leadership (11–25)

  • Lead the planning, development and delivery of accessible sports, arts and social provision for disabled children aged 11–25
  • Oversee activities, clubs and short breaks provision for teens and young adults
  • Ensure services promote positive outcomes, including health, fitness, wellbeing, social development, and confidence building for disabled young people to enable independence, social inclusion and preparation for life transitions
  • Ensure services are responsive and accessible for disabled young people experiencing marginalisation or complex needs

3. Operational Management & Service Delivery

  • Ensure day‑to‑day service delivery operates efficiently, safely and in compliance with legislation and organisational policy
  • Oversee the operational budget of the Transitions Team and finances of YuGo, working closely with the Financial Controller to monitor budgetary spend and that sessions are appropriately costed and attended to meet income generation targets
  • Oversee risk assessments, staffing ratios and safe practice procedures across all Transitions and YuGo provision
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges to maintain service continuity
  • Work with the Data & Operations Manager to ensure that appropriate systems are in place for attendance recording, data collection and reporting
  • Monitor service capacity and resource allocation to maintain high‑quality delivery, working cross‑organisationally where required to maximise resourcing needs
  • Work collaboratively with the Grants, Income Generation & Comms Manager to inform funding applications and ensure timely external communications
  • Work with the Head of Operations to ensure that service delivery is supported effectively and efficiently by the operations team and meets compliance standards
  • Overall responsibility for leading the Transitions Service Delivery Team with direct line management of Service and Activities Managers – who are responsible for managing and supervising Sports Coaches, Activity Leaders, Support Workers, volunteers and other delivery staff or contractors

Operational Team Management

  • Regular supervision and performance management, including appraisal and development planning
  • Oversee recruitment and induction of staff, sessional staff and volunteers
  • Workforce planning and skills development
  • Fostering a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement
  • Appropriate inductions and training are undertaken

5. YuGo – Leadership of Allsorts Commercial Offer

  • Lead the operational development of YuGo as an income‑generating activity programme within Allsorts
  • Plan, oversee and where appropriate deliver YuGo Provision, including Schools and/or Community Events, Commissioned EOTIS Provision, Personal Training, SEND Professional Development and Training, including digital training offers
  • Work with the Financial Controller to ensure appropriate budgeting and pricing for YuGo Activities, to ensure commercial success
  • Ensure that YuGo’s accessible activity is predominantly supporting and including disabled children and young people

6. Partnership & Multi‑Agency Working

  • Partner and engage with disabled children, young people and their families to ensure a better understanding of the needs and preferences through consultation and involving them wherever possible in the design and delivery of our services
  • Develop strong relationships with statutory agencies, sports and activity venues, schools and voluntary organisations
  • Represent Allsorts at relevant local networks and forums
  • Maintain clear referral pathways and signpost systems for disabled children and young people
  • Identify and encourage opportunities for the sharing of experience and knowledge between other service providers – with a focus on improved services for disabled children and young people

7. Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact

  • Oversee and champion monitoring and evaluation systems within Transitions and YuGo services
  • Work with the Data & Operations Manager to ensure accurate data capture and impact measurement
  • Work with the Co‑Head of Services to analyse feedback and outcomes to inform service improvement
  • Work with the Grants, Income and Comms Manager to contribute to organisational reporting for funders and trustees

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Circa 5 years experience of working in sports, arts, youth, social care or related charitable setting
  • Proven leadership experience with line management responsibility
  • Knowledge of and ability to show empathy towards the needs of families who have disabled children and/or children with additional needs
  • Experience of working with disabled children – developing and facilitating groups and/or activities
  • Knowledge of working/liaising with statutory and voluntary agencies, and evidence of good networking skills
  • Ability to deal appropriately with sensitive issues and confidential information
  • Ability to keep records, written and electronic
  • Car driver with access to personal transport for travel purposes
  • A degree equivalent qualification in sports, arts, youth work, social work, SEND education, teaching, care/support work or similar
  • Training in autistic spectrum disorders is advantageous
  • Level 3 Safeguarding – experienced designated or deputy designated safeguarding lead
  • Experience of managing project budgets and/or commercial activity
  • Lived experience, as a disabled person or a parent of a disabled child/young person
