Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced protection product and proposition professional to join our Product Management team, focusing on our life cover, critical cover and income protection offering. This role plays a critical part in shaping and evolving our retail protection products, balancing technical expertise with commercial insight to deliver value for customers and the business. You’ll lead people, influence stakeholders, and ensure our products remain competitive, compliant and customer focused in a dynamic market.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading the management and optimisation of retail protection products across life cover, critical illness cover and income protection
- Analysing market trends, customer behaviour, MI, and regulatory activity to identify risks or opportunities for continual improvement
- Collaborating with Distribution, Marketing and Reinsurers to maintain and manage commercially sound, fair value, customer centric products
- Managing product lifecycle, value for money reviews and ongoing performance monitoring to agreed standards and timelines
- Leading, motivating and developing product managers and agile team members to deliver high performance and positive customer outcomes
- Owning product risk management including regulatory, operational and conduct considerations
- Preparing and presenting high-quality papers for internal governance committees and forums
- Managing external relationships to maximise value, oversee performance and meet contractual obligations
Who we’re looking for
- Expert knowledge of life, critical illness, and income protection products through the entire product lifecycles
- Strong understanding of the UK protection market, customer needs, and regulation
- Proven experience managing on-sale and legacy protection products to ensure a fair value exchange and good customer outcomes
- Demonstrable commercial acumen with the ability to build compelling, data-led business cases
- Experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams and managing external relationships
- Confident communicator able to engage and influence at all levels
- Experience managing and developing small to medium-sized teams
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and insight to inform decisions
