£110,000 – £120,000 plus bonus and excellent benefits
A large, complex, international technology business (£1bn t/o) is seeking a Head of Financial Reporting to take ownership of Group-level external reporting during a period of transformation under private equity ownership, including preparation for separation and standalone reporting.
This is a newly created and highly visible role, acting as the organisation’s dedicated corporate reporting lead. You will be responsible for designing and delivering a fit-for-purpose external reporting framework, taking full ownership of consolidated reporting, audit and technical accounting, while operating across a matrix finance structure without direct line management of all preparers. This role requires someone who can build reporting structure, governance and processes, while maintaining hands‑on ownership of complex reporting areas.
You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with post‑qualified experience in Group financial reporting within a complex, international environment. Critically, you will have experience of corporate reporting at Group level, including experience designing or significantly improving reporting frameworks and governance, leading consolidated external reporting and audit processes, and taking responsibility for disclosure‑heavy areas such as cash flow, EPS, pensions and financial instruments. You will also be comfortable preparing and defending technical accounting papers for senior stakeholders and external auditors.
You are likely to have trained within an audit and subsequently moved into a senior Group reporting or technical role within a listed or large business. You will bring deep technical knowledge of IFRS and UK corporate reporting requirements, alongside experience operating effectively in complex environment, influencing teams without direct line management. You will have a proven track record of building or improving reporting processes, controls and governance, and be recognised as a strong communicator, able to articulate and defend technical positions with clarity and confidence.
This is a rare opportunity to build and shape a corporate reporting function in a business undergoing significant change. You will play a central role in establishing standalone reporting capability, improving governance and supporting a future transaction.
The role offers high visibility, direct exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to define “what good looks like” in a complex, evolving environment.
If you are interested in discussing this opportunity in confidence, please apply or get in touch.
