The Opportunity
BTP is recruiting an Estates Auditing Manager to lead a robust audit programme across our estate. In this role you will assess end‑to‑end compliance across workplace design, space planning, building management, CAD/data accuracy and policy adoption, providing clear findings and corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Designing and delivering a comprehensive estates audit framework, including methodology, scope, sampling and reporting.
- Reviewing compliance with Estates policies and standards, ensuring workplace design, space planning and processes match approved requirements.
- Auditing CAD and CAFM data for accuracy, version control and completeness, ensuring MI is drawn from reliable, controlled datasets.
- Assessing alignment with H&S, fire safety and accessibility obligations, ensuring audit‑ready evidence and supporting Compliance/Assurance colleagues.
- Validating key performance data such as occupancy, utilisation and cost metrics, identifying efficiency and cost‑avoidance opportunities.
- Carrying out targeted site and divisional audits with clear findings, risk ratings and agreed actions.
- Tracking corrective actions, escalating high‑risk issues through estates governance.
- Driving continuous improvement by identifying systemic issues and feeding learning into policies, standards and processes.
- Producing evidence‑based audit reports for project boards, committees and senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
- A Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience in audit, governance, workplace/facilities management, architecture, design or information systems.
- Experience delivering operational audits in complex, multi‑site or regulated environments, with the ability to convert findings into clear corrective actions.
- Strong experience auditing CAD/data standards, document control processes, MI/KPI accuracy and workplace procedures.
- Confidence working with governance and assurance stakeholders, producing concise, actionable audit reports.
- Skilled in audit planning, sampling, evidence testing and root‑cause analysis, with strong risk and issue‑management capability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to influence stakeholders and secure action.
- Competence with MI and data‑visualisation tools (Power BI, Excel Power Query/Pivot) and working knowledge of AutoCAD/CAFM for audit purposes.
- Strong problem‑solving, lateral thinking, and decision‑making skills with high attention to detail.
- Knowledge of information‑governance principles and secure handling of estates data.
- Understanding of workplace regulations and standards, including H&S, fire safety and accessibility.
